Our Mission
When Aunt Stacy looks at a BLM burro, she sees a beautiful soul — one who has lost the life it once knew, and who still holds immense capacity to know love, give love, and bless the lives of those willing to earn its trust.
About Aunt Stacy
Aunt Stacy works with only a few burros at a time — by design. Each gentling plan is shaped by the individual animal: their history, their fears, their gifts. Trust is not requested; it is earned, slowly, in the language the burro understands.
Through the Forever Branded Partnerships Program, Stacy is also a Forever Branded Trainer who fosters, trains, and identifies potential adopters/purchasers for BLM burros. Stacy also offers a soft landing to select domestic donkeys in need of rehoming.
She approaches every burro with humility and heart, learning from each one and adapting her hands and voice to meet them where they are.
What Makes This Different

We are not a high-volume rescue. Every burro receives the time, attention, and individualized plan they deserve.

Trust is built through encouragement and positive reinforcement — never coercion. Slow is fast.

AvailableThis handsome titled BLM gelding was rounded up in the Lake Pleasant Herd Management Area in AZ. He has been with me for gentling since 4/3/26. Jackpot has excelled at all of his gentling requirements and is looking for the best home out there. He truly is a big teddy bear and once he trusts you, he leans in and stays. Someone will definitely have hit the "jackpot" when they bring him home!

AvailableThis cute BLM gelding was rounded up with Jackpot in the Lake Pleasant HMA in AZ. He is young and darling with his long horse-like mane and long hairy ears. He has learned that carrots are, in fact, a love language and butt scratches feed the soul. He has come so far since arriving with Jackpot on 4/3/26 and has almost completed all of his gentling skills. This boy promises to keep you entertained with his antics and his smiles!
